DANCE . POETRY . TALKS

 
 

ONE BILLION RISING 2022 is coming to Cornwall as part of a global mass action to end violence against women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence). 

Join us and celebrate solidarity through
action
art
connection
imagination
and love

In 2020 and 2021, over 2000 dancers, group leaders, dance and community groups and the general public from across Cornwall learnt the One Billion Rising - KERPOW dance. Over 250 people attended the in-person event in Truro in 2020 and online gathering in 2021 to dance at this international event.

This year KERPOW are leading this event again. To join us, learn the dance from the video at the bottom of this page and turn up at the main event in Falmouth on Saturday 12th February 2022 at 1pm. Dance teachers and community leaders you can teach this to your groups. Feel free to bring your family and friends to join the dance or stand in solidarity with us by watching.

Price: Free to join, but if you feel you can donate some funds, please help to raise money for The Women's Centre Cornwall.

Your money will go toward continuing to provide services to women and girls in our community to life free from abuse and become empowered to live the life they want for themselves.

You can learn the dance from the video below or JOIN US at our workshop on Wednesday 9th February at 7.45pm in The ZedShed, Jubilee Wharf, Penryn, TR10 8FG

*No previous dance experience needed.
Learn with friends, family, on your own or as part of a group.

It’s best to use the video by following Emily imagining you are stood in front of a mirror, so if Emily goes left, you go left etc. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just have fun with it.
